Catch Up

It was a busy week last week with company in town and traveling over the weekend so let's just dive right in and catch up! 

• Our sweet girl has no shortage of monogrammed items thanks to Justin's cousin, Carlee.  Her monogrammed diaper covers are my favorite! 
• Last weekend we attended my families reunion in my hometown. It was so nice to see all of my family that we only get to see once a year. They all loved meeting Anna Claire! It was also the second time my grandmother got to meet AC. She is her only great grandchild and she is just so smitten with her! 
• While at home we celebrated an early Fathers Day with my dad since we won't see him next weekend.

• Last week my sister was in town the first part of the week and my best friend Ashley visited the second part of the week. I loved catching up and having them here! We ventured out when Ashley was here for lunch and drinks on the waterfront.
• I also attended a girls night where I left Anna Claire for the first time. Justin watched her and she did sorta great. Aka screamed half the time and then did great the second half. I was only gone for two hours but it was so nice to let go of the mommy role for a bit! I'm going out to dinner with two friends tonight and we are going to try again. Fingers crossed for a smooth night with no tears!

Weekending

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! The sun was out and the weather was nice which made for a perfect beach weekend! On Friday little miss and I stayed in most of the day cleaning and reading. We have been following the moms on call schedule and she does so well on it! Friday afternoon we met some friends at the Ocean Isle Beach concert to listen to some music and grab dinner.

On Saturday Justin played golf so I headed to my moms house and took advantage of free babysitting to lay out on her dock for a bit! Right now Anna Claire eats every 2-3 hours and I am still exclusively breastfeeding so I can't be away very long. It's nice to be able to lay on the dock and know she is just a few steps away if she needs me! That night we went out for dinner to celebrate Justin's cousin and uncle's birthday. Once again the weather was perfect and the view was gorgeous. My sister and brother in law have been traveling and they got to our house about 10pm to stay a few days.

Sunday we had good intentions of making it to church, again, but it just didn't happen. Hopefully soon!! Instead we all packed up and headed to moms house again for lunch and for a beach day! Justin was sweet enough to stay back at the house and watch AC so the girls could sneak away to the beach for about 2 hours. By the end of the weekend I was slightly sunburnt and full of good food with a heart full of family time. That is the best kind of weekend in my opinion! Now my sister is visiting until Tuesday and my best friend comes into town on Wednesday so it will be a busy week!

5 on Friday

One.  I know I have already shared a few pictures but I just have to document Anna Claire's visit to the beach last weekend. She is so precious in her little bonnet! She slept through the entire trip and has no clue she even touched the sand for the first time. I also wanted to share one of my favorite baby products for the summer- the Fisher Price On the Go Baby Dome. It is perfect to take little miss out on the beach because it has a canopy that completely covers her offering protection from the sun. It also has mesh sides that lets the breeze in. It folds up so I can carry it easily. I plop her down in their and set up my battery powered fan to blow on her and she does great!

Two. After tons of research on baby video monitors I finally settled on the Infant Optics Video Baby Monitor DXR-8 and I really did like it. It worked well and had all the important features but for the hefty price tag I just didn't know if it was worth it. We used it for about a week before deciding to return it and instead purchase a Nest. So far I  like it better because I can pull it up on my phone and don't have to worry about carrying around a separate monitor screen and keeping it charged. I also love that we can watch it live so we could move it to the living room and watch our lab decide if he is going to be a perfect angel that day or if he's going to chew up anything in sight. We just hooked it up so I haven't really had a chance to see if it will work well as a baby  monitor so I'll update you once we've used it for a bit! Do any of you use the Nest as a baby monitor?

Three. One of the perks of where we live (coastal NC on the SC border) is in the summer time all of the local beaches around here offer free beach music concerts almost every weeknight. Each beach picks a different night and they have live music that night each week from Memorial day to Labor day. Tonight Trey Calloway, a country singer, is performing so we plan to pack a cooler and head out to listen. It's the perfect free entertainment! 

Four. This week Justin and I went on our first date night since Anna Claire was born. It was much needed. Even though she tagged along we enjoyed every second! I'm hoping we can at least squeeze in one date night a month! 

Five. Can I just vent for a second how annoying dealing with someone elses insurance has been? My wreck as a week ago and their insurance still has not processed our claim which means I have not been able to get a rental car.. which means I've been stuck at home with out a car to drive for a week. It is so annoying! Okay vent over. Maybe they will call me today. Have a great weekend everyone!
