Is it possible to have too much fun?

Ohh friends, I can't tell you how much fun this past weekend was at Carolina Cup. With all the fun it took me a few days to recouperate and get back on the blog world to give you a recap. No fear, I'm fully rested. I can't say I'm not a little sad though- recapping makes me want to go back!

When my friends and I arrived Friday afternoon we got dolled up and then went to meet up with my friends that attend USC. They took us to see the ZTA house on USC campus. I had seen it before but got to actually stop and take a picture this time. We then went out for dinner and drinks before heading to the bar. It was as I expected and East Carolina students took over. My USC friends tell me every year that cup weekend there are more pirates around than there are gamecocks.

I finally made it home a little past my bedtime and slept amazing until my 7am alarm went off. It's funny how easy it is to wake up when you have something fun going on but how hard it is to wake up when you have work or school, ha. After getting ready I met up with a group of ZTA girls who had rented a bus to drive us from Columbia to Camden. My hair was immediately ruined by the rain. It rained the entire way to Camden but luckily stopped by the time we arrived! The rest of the day was bright and sunny. What good luck! Carolina Cup was an absolute blast. I met up with several friends from schools all over NC as well as many of my fellow ECU friends

That night after cup we were up and at it again. Tired or not we had to make the most of our weekend! I'm so glad we did because this was the funniest night I have had in a LONG time.

Carolina Cup

It's finally Friday!! My blogging has been slack this week because I have been sick, had to finish my senior portfolio and had lesson planning for next week to do. It is now Friday however and I am FINISHED with everything!! After all the hard work it is such a sweet feeling! In just a little bit I will be loading up the car with sundresses, jack rogers and floppy hats. I'm Columbia, SC bound for the weekend.

Carolina Cup weekend is by far one of my favorite events of the year. Every spring hundreds of ECU students pack up and head up to SC for the weekend. Everyone stays in the same hotel (I apologize for the families staying), everyone eats at the same places, everyone goes to the same bars. It is so neat to be 4+ hours away but see SO many fellow students and friends. My friends and I will be heading to Columbia for the night where we will meet up with some old friends that attend USC. When I was a sophomore and attended Carolina Cup I met some guys from USC and have been able to keep in touch and remain friends ever since. I even went back for his formal one year!

We will all be heading out tonight for a few drinks at our favorite college bar- Pavlov's. Despite the guaranteed fun, but late night we will be waking up bright and early to get dressed up in sundresses and floppy hats to head to Camden, SC for Carolina Cup 2012. Here there will be no shortage of Lilly Pulitzer, Vineyard Vines, seersucker, bow ties, bows and floppy hats. If you have been following me for a while you may have picked up on my roommate and I having matching cups for all kinds of events. (yes we are entirely that cheesy) We couldn't let the tradition die this weekend so we will be sporting monogrammed mason jars(;

And I'm Off!

Yep Friends, It is a fabulous Friday and I am off for a fun filled weekend! I went to my single class for the day and am now about to meet the girls, stuff the trunk with sundresses and straw hats, plug in the ipod and hit the road! We're stopping midway to pick up 'the boy' and then Columbia SC here we come! We are planning on having dinner and drinks when we arrive and then see where the night takes us. It will then be an early morning as we pop our first bottle of champagne at 9am on the charter bus taking us from Columbia to Camden where Carolina Cup is held. From there it will be a full day of festivities and seeing where the night takes us again! One thing I remember from last year that I hope we can repeat is a visit to a fabulous Mexican restaurant. I don't know if it was the food or the seven hours worth of cocktails that made it so fabulous but it's defiantly something I want to repeat! I'm getting giddy just thinking about how much fun this weekend will be. I will defiantly share pictures when I return! and happy April Fools Day!!
