Senior freakout Ramblings

I don't know what it is about senior year but it has sent me into a whirlwind of emotions. As we near the end of the semester I can't help but think/worry/get excited/then worry more about this so called "real life" idea that I am trying to avoid. When the year started in August I told myself I needed to make the absolute most of it, never letting an opportunity pass me by. I have certainly done just that and looking back on these three months I'm so glad. I have met more people, gotten closer with friends, visited new places, and developed a new outlook on life. As happy as that makes me, the whirlwind starts here too- It's November, two months that are interrupted with Thanksgiving and Christmas break until this semester is entirely over. Next semester my lifestyle will go from student with a one day a week internship, to teacher with a full time internship. Yes, I'm excited for that! But I know that, that also means May will be here in the blink of an eye. Looking back on college is so bittersweet. When my professors ask me if I'm excited for graduation I look at them like they are crazy.. um no! I'm scared and don't think I'm ready. On the same note I look back at all the things college/senior year has taught me, and have decided maybe I am more ready than I give myself credit for. This year I have learned the importance of being kind to others.

I have leaned that life is what YOU make of it.

I have learned the importance of living an honest life.

I've learned that life doesn't always go as planned. Everyday
isn't rainbows and butterflies, but it is up to you to find the
good in a situation and make the most of it.

and lastly I've learned..
Who knows where I will be in the spring/summer. What I do know is that I will carry these life lessons with me wherever I am.

  1. I work in an elementary school now as a Teachers Assistant and love it. I was worried about my internship now but you will be able to do it, I am finishing up my 5th year with a few extra elective classes online and hitting grad school to get my master before I step into the real world of teaching.. leaving college is hard

  3. This post describes exactly how I am feeling right now too. Everyone told me to live it up senior year and while I am making the most of it I always wonder what more I can do before the real world hits. All those lessons are absolutely perfect and I have no doubt the real world won't know what hit em when you get there!

  5. These are wonderful things to remember! As weird as it is, I am counting down the days until graduation and am so looking forward to having my own classroom. I am full time in my classroom now and start student teaching in January -- it is so weird how time flies by! Do you know where you're student teaching yet?
